Geological Engineering
BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAM
Geological Engineering
The Geological Engineering Study Program is an earth and engineering science that comprehensively studies the composition, structure, formation processes, and history of the Earth, including rocks, minerals, water, and subsurface natural resources. This study trains students to apply geological principles in the context of engineering and construction, particularly in the fields of energy resource exploration (oil and gas, and geothermal), minerals, hydrogeology (groundwater), geotechnics (supporting infrastructure construction), and the mitigation of geological disasters, with the goal of producing experts capable of analyzing risks and utilizing natural wealth sustainably.
To become a reference in the study of geology and mineral exploration in Timor-Leste.
- To educate students on the Earth’s structure and minerals.
- To encourage research in responsible exploration.
- To support the development of industry and the environment.
